I had always assumed that aches and pains, and becoming more stooped, were part of aging. The Alexander Technique has shown me that this is not necessarily so! Jane has shown me how to be more upright yet not to be rigid. It is brilliant! I wish all elderly people such as myself knew about The Alexander Technique as I feel sure it could relieve their pain and suffering too. Whilst I was pregnant with both my girls, I had regular lessons with Jane and they proved to be extremely valuable. I sailed through both pregnancies with no backache or the usual pregnancy problems. I didn’t have the birth I wanted with my first as she was breech and I had to have a C-section. I was so grateful for the lessons when it came to getting off the bed and walking after the operation! If you're pregnant or planning to be, I would recommend Jane to ensure your body is in the best health to carry the growing weight and ultimately have an easier labour.

I used to have terrible lower back pain from the curvature of my spine but after having a few lessons with Jane and committing myself to doing 15 minutes in the semi-supine position everyday, I feel so much better within myself. The curve is reducing every day, I have no more pain, I feel fitter, lighter on my feet and people have even commented on how well I look. Alexander Technique is great! I really look forward to my lessons, not just because Jane is lovely, but because I will leave after the lesson having learnt something that will benefit me for years to come.

Before I couldn’t stand for 15 minutes without being uncomfortable. Since I have had Alexander Technique lessons, I can stand without pain for hours! It has really helped me.
The Alexander Technique has certainly helped my shoulder and neck problems over the last few months, it makes you think when you go to answer a phone, sit at your desk and computer. The semi-supine position has improved my sleep pattern by 75%. It definitely works for me.

I'm afraid the physiotherapy was not at all helpful for my RSI (and actually gave me more pain!), so after that I tried the Alexander technique with Jane Gregory. I have to say it's been fabulous. I would highly recommend it for anyone suffering from back/neck/shoulder pain or RSI (or indeed any kind of pain or aches).
Jane has helped me become more aware of my movements including freeing my neck and jaw and allowing my voice to be more resonant. Overall it is a real benefit to me.

Just over a year ago I was suffering with a very painful neck which never seemed to right itself. I happened to be talking to a colleague who suggested Alexander Technique and not being one for taking painkillers of any kind decided to give it a try. It was the best decision I took. Even after just a couple of weeks my neck began to feel better and now I am pain free! Even though I don’t attend my lessons any longer, Jane, my teacher, had taught me so much about posture and how to ‘work’ my body in the correct way that if I find myself ‘slouching’ I at once check myself. Don’t expect an overnight miracle but I say give it a try work with your teacher and you will be very pleasantly surprised.

… I have learnt so much about how my body works and how I can work with my body to stop aches and pains, which believe me you don't realise you even have until you have had a few lessons! I feel better in myself because I feel that I walk taller, feel lighter. I believe most of my previous stress has been down to not sitting and carrying myself properly.
